![]() Live shows are the place that their uniqueness and talent truly come to live. It is perhaps their classic London vibe and distinctive talent on the bass and guitar that make them so special. The people who attend Monochrome Set shows tend to be age-old fans but they are also popular among new indie fans. They open with the low-key but familiar song ‘The Monochrome Set’ and blast through more upbeat tracks including ‘The Jet Set Junta’ and of course ‘Jacob’s Ladder’. Whilst their live shows have toned down recently, their musicianship shines through. They continue with their commitment to alternative, atmospheric shows which show how they are not only musicians but artists. In the beginning, they collaborated with the experimental film maker Tony Pott who created a number of bizarre stage images using various film projections. The thing about The Monochrome Set’s live performances is that they are more than just a live band. They accompanied this with a tour of the UK – both of which received a great deal of praise as people were clearly happy to see The Monochrome Set return with such strong material. Their most recent studio full length was released in 2011, titled Super Plastic City. To date, they have released an impressive eleven studio albums, a number of EPs and demos. Their line-up has varied over the years arriving at their current line-up featuring original members.
